From the Museum: 1920's Flight Coverall

This week's museum find is a 1920's to early 30's flight coverall, for use in open cockpit aircraft. It is made of rubberized canvas.

We believe that this coverall was initially owned by A.C. Read, a Rear Admiral in the Navy who decided that none of his personal effects should ever be in a museum after a snub by the Smithsonian. This flight suit was (presumably) sold by his widow to a Mr. Ellis, from whom we acquired it. As our "museum" is only called that in jest, we don't think he'd be too mad. After all, this flight suit just hangs on the boss's office door frame.
